The New Generation of Country Clothing
Henry Hunt is the inspiration of 21 year old Fashion student Phoebe Garlick. Established in December 2009, Phoebe has developed the company with the help of her mother Jane and elder sister Hannah to create a new strain of country clothing. With her unique designs Phoebe combines the practicality of the the country lifestyle with high fashion touches and styling, bringing the countryside to the style conscious and bringing fashion to the country bumpkin. Featured in prestigious magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Country Life, the company, only into its second year, is already sailing along with top designers and brands. Growing up in the deep depths of the Blackdown Hills in Somerset and going to University to study Fashion Design in London, Phoebe wanted to bring the two lifestyles together and create a unique style in itself of classic garments with an edge. Exposed to the true eccentricity of English fashion in London she wanted to exude the edgy and and fun style that England is so famous for in her designs. Combining this with the classic cuts and traditional fabrics used for centuries for both country sporting and casual wear, she has developed the concenpt of Henry Hunt - Pure British Attire. At Henry Hunt, our roots are important to us. Based in Somerset we endeavour to support our local industries using manufacturers in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall as well as sourcing locally woven fabrics where possible. All of our stock is produced in small runs to ensure exclusivity and exceptional quality, to each and every customer.
Why Henry Hunt?The name combined two of the elements that we feel best describe our clothing...Tradition and Country Henry is a traditional English name that has run in our family for generations. Hunt is a traditional English country sport, popular for centuries and represents our English, aristocratic countryside image. By combining the two we have a wonderfully English, traditional and memorable name which illustrates our collection perfectly.
The Labrador LogoWe chose the logo of the black Labrador as they are loyal, loving and enthusiastic dogs that will always be by your side. They are also highly reputable gun dogs with a keen nose and reliable instinct, always keen to please their master. We thought this was a fitting animal to represent our brand, modelled perfectly by our very own Pickles. Our motto, seen on our shield, 'TANTUM PRO OPTIMUS' means 'Only The Best' - perfectly describes our clothes
